Day 1 (Tashkent): Welcome reception on arrival at Tashkent airport. Meet and transfer to hotel for overnight (previous night).
Day 2 (Tashkent – Termez, by air): After breakfast at hotel free at leisure. Lunch at local restaurant. PM city tour of Tashkent. Visit History Museum, Barak Khan madrasah, Tillya Sheikh mosque, Kukeldash Madrassah and Chorsu bazaar, Navoi theatre square, Amir Temur Park. After dinner at local restaurant transfer to airport for HY flight to Termez. Upon arrival transfer to hotel for overnight.
Day 3 (Termez): After breakfast transfer to the airport for flight to Termez. Lunch at local restaurant. PM city tour of Termez. Visit to the architectural complex of Khakimi Termizi, (11-15 century) situated in Old Termez where was buried Abu-Abdallah-Muhammad bini-Ali bini-Husseinal-Khakimi Termizi, a prominent devoted Sufi of the IX century from Termez, the founder of a Sufi Order “Khakimi”. Not far ago he was called by population as Termez-ata (father of Termez) and worshipped as a spiritual protector of the town. Also, visit Sultan-Saodat architectural ensemble located in the area of the post-Mongol Termez. The new town was perhaps laid here because of a worshipped Muslim shrine. In the 2nd half of IX century this land was owned by an influential family of Seid Hassan al-Emir (The Seids are direct descendants of the Prophet Muhammad and always had a high position in Muslim clergy hierarchy). Dinner and overnight.
Day 4 (Termez): After breakfast city tour of Termez. Termez is famous for Buddhist monuments. Visit Dalvarzintepa (1-3rd cc. AD), Fayyaztepa (1-3 cc. AD), Kampirtepa (2 c. BC) and Kara Tepe (2-4th c. AD) (special permission is required 15 days prior to visit Kara Tepe). Visit Archeological museum. Lunch at local restaurant. Dinner and overnight.
Day 5 (Termez – Boysun – Termez ,180 km 3 hrs): After breakfast drive to Boysun. Arrival. Lunch. Then proceed for city tour of Boysun village that keeps the memory of culture of Greek-Baktrian and Kushan kingdoms that fell into oblivion of heathen ceremonies of fire-worshippers, and shaman cults (if available; Please note that shaman should be tipped in order to avoid an evil eye on himself). Visit the most ancient well-survived remains of traditional crafts. Retourn to Termez . Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 6 Termez – Tashkent, by air): Transfer to the airport for flight to Tashkent. On arrival lunch at local restaurant and transfer to hotel for rest. PM walk through Sayilgoh Street (Broadway). Dinner and overnight at Hotel.
Day 7 (Tashkent – Urgench, by air, Khiva): After early breakfast transfer to the airport for flight to Urgench. On arrival drive to historical town of Khiva (30 km from Urgench). Visit Madrasah Allakuli Khan, Madrasah Muhammad Amin Khan, Kunya Ark, Kelte Minar, Pakhlavan Mahmud Mausoleum, Islam Khoja Minaret and Madrasah, Madrasah Muhammad Rahimkhan, Juma Masjid, Tash Hovli Palace. Lunch at local restaurant. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 8 (Urgench – Topraq Qala, Ayaz Qala, Koikirilgan Qala – Urgench, 80 km via pontoon bridge): After breakfast excursion to Topraq Qala, Ayaz Qala, Koikirilgan Qala sites of ancient Khorezm State settlements, now located on the territory of Karakalpakstan. Toprak Qala is 2000 years old ruined city fortress, 350 by 500 meters and framed by the brooding Sultan Vais Mountain, is the dramatic and best explored in the region. About 2500-3000 years old settlements flourished during I Century BC – III Century AD under Kushan patronage. The later collapse of Kushan and White Hephtalite rule left the region open to devastating Turkic raids which destroyed irrigation canals and lead to the depopulation of the town in the sixth century. Lunch in Ayazkala or box-lunch. Return to Urgench for dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 9 (Excursion to Kunya Urgench, Tashauz – Ashgabat by air): After breakfast drive to Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan border (Tashauz). After border formalities change to Turkmen transport and excursion to Kunya Urgench. Lunch at local restaurant. In Kunya Urgench visit Mausoleum of Soltan Tekesh XII-XIII cc., the Monument of Torebeg Hanum XII c and a stop at the highest minaret in Turkmenistan – the Minaret of Kutlug Temur XI-XII cc. Then return to Tashauz and PM flight to Ashgabat. On arrival transfer to Nissa Hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 10 (Ashgabat): After breakfast city tour of Ashgabad. Visit Sunday bazaar “Tolkuchka”. Then proceed to visit Nisa, capital of the ancient Kingdom of Parthia (2nd B.C and 2nd A.D) and National museum of History. Lunch at local restaurant. PM sightseeing tour including Tower of Neutrality, Ertogrulgazi Mosque, Independence and Neutrality monuments and Annau Mosque. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at Nissa Hotel.
Day 11 (Ashgabat – Marv – Mary, 385 km, 8 hrs): After an early breakfast drive to Mary. On arrival lunch at local restaurant and excursion to Merv. Ancient Merv – a vast territory on which many ancient states (from those of the Akhmenids to those of the Seljuks & the Timurids) rose and fell, leaving behind impressive monuments of their glorious days. Among them the most famous is Mausoleum of Sultan Sanjar (XII Century) which has been registered by the United Nations as a historical treasure. Among other monuments are Kyz Kala and Bola Kala. Return to Mary. Dinner and overnight at Yrsgal Hotel.
Day 12 (Mary – Bukhara, 385 km, 8 hrs): After breakfast drive to Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan border (Farab). Lunch at local restaurant en-route. After border formalities change to Uzbek transport and drive to Bukhara. Arrive Bukhara and transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 13 (Bukhara): Today proceed for a full day city sightseeing of Bukhara. Visit Bolo Hauz Mosque, Ark fortress, Ismail Samanids mausoleum and Chashmai Ayub, Lyabi Hauz Complex. After lunch at local restaurant continue city tour. Visit Ancient Silk Market, Madrasah Ulugbek, Minaret Kalyan, Trade Domes – Taki Zargaron, Taki Telpakfurushon, Taki Sarafon. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 14 (Bukhara – Gijduvan – Samarkand, 280 km, 4-5 hrs): After breakfast drive to Samarkand via Gijduvan. Gijduvan once an important crafts centre along the ancient Silk Road, now famous for its Gijduvan ceramics dating back to the XVIII. There we will visit famous ceramics family and see ceramics making process. After lunch at ceramists’ family continue driving to Samarkand. Upon arrival transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 15 (Samarkand): After breakfast proceed for a city tour of Samarkand. Visit Gur Emir Mausoleum and Registan Square (Ulugbek, Sherdor and Tilla Kari Madrassahs). Lunch at local restaurant. Also visit Observatory of Ulugbek, Afrosiab Museum and hills, Bibi Khanum Mosque and bazaar, Shakhi Zinda necropolis. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 16 (Samarkand – Tashkent, 280 km, 4-5 hrs, Departure): After breakfast drive to Tashkent. Upon arrival lunch at local restaurant. Visit Applied Arts museum and Art Gallery. After dinner transfer to the airport for departure flight.
